Dr. Carmina NoronaBiography

Dr. Carmina Norona is a professor of two private colleges in the Philippines, renowned for her contributions to Psychology, Special Education, and Educational Research. With over 24 years of experience teaching at different levels, from preschool to higher Education, and conducting some research, she has dedicated her career to exploring and understanding the challenges of special educators and students with disabilities in public schools here and abroad.

Dr. Norona earned her PhD in Special Education at Pacific Intercontinental College, where she focused her dissertation on Special educators in the Philippines. She is currently enrolled in a Special Education doctoral program at Greenville College.

In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Norona is actively involved in various community outreach programs, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical application. Her current research interests and work are about disability laws in the Philippines. She continues to mentor remotely to college, graduate students, and young researchers with passion and dedication.

She is an active member of the Illinois Center for Exceptional Children and Chicago Teachers Union Special Educators, where she collaborates with fellow professionals to advance the field.

In her free time, Dr. Norona enjoys reading, visiting libraries, volunteering in different organizations, and advocating for people with disabilities, which help her maintain a balanced and fulfilling life.
