Amanda Aldridge, Ed.D. - Biography
Dr. Aldridge is an Associate Professor at Lindenwood University’s College of Education and Human Services, within the Curriculum & Instruction Department in Initial Teacher Education. She also serves as the Director of Internships and Culminating Experiences in the college. Dr. Aldridge holds a B.S. in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an M.Ed. from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Lindenwood University.
With two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Aldridge has devoted her career to nurturing the next generation of educators. Before transitioning her career into the field of higher education, she taught high school social studies in the Wentzville School District. Dr. Aldridge possesses Missouri career teacher certifications in Early Childhood Education (B-3), Elementary Education (1-6), Middle School Social Studies Education (5-9), Secondary Social Studies Education (9-12), Physical Education (K-12), and Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Special Education (K-12).
Dr. Aldridge co-developed and oversees the implementation of the LindenTeach Internship, which provides candidates with enhanced, guided experience as building substitutes within partner school districts. She is responsible for teaching and directing all Student Teaching Field Experience and LindenTeach Internship courses at Lindenwood University.
Dr. Aldridge's research interests are deeply embedded in the development and support of educators. She is particularly passionate about mentoring new teachers, fostering collaborative relationships between K-12 schools and universities, and enhancing parent-teacher and school partnerships. Her scholarly work also focuses on increasing parent involvement in education and examining the adaptability of teachers across diverse educational settings.
